Police Crack Down On Gun Runners, Motorcycle Thieves

The Kaduna State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to combat crime in the state.
On August 5, 2025, operatives of the Ikara Division arrested two notorious gun runners, Isah Bello and Sa’idu Haruna, residents of Damdami village in Soba Local Government Area.
During the operation, the police recovered four locally made rifles and four locally made pistols from the suspects’ hideout in a bushy area.
One of the suspects, Isah Bello, attempted to evade arrest and assaulted an Inspector of Police, causing injury to the officer’s face.
The injured officer is currently receiving medical attention and is responding to treatment.
In a related development, police detectives from Dan Magaji division apprehended Shamsudeen Haruna, 36, of Galadimawa, Giwa Local Government Area, on August 7, 2025.
The suspect was arrested while attempting to dispose of stolen motorcycles, and four motorcycles were recovered from him.
During interrogation, he confessed to belonging to a notorious syndicate that had been terrorizing Zaria, Giwa, and its environs.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the operatives involved and reiterated the Command’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements.
He warned market associations to be vigilant about the activities of their members, cautioning that anyone caught receiving stolen motorcycles would face the full wrath of the law.
The Command appreciates the guidance and support from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetekun, and the Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani.
The Police Command encourages the public to collaborate with them to ensure peace and security in the state.
The Command warned criminals to keep off from Kaduna or face arrest, emphasizing its commitment to proactive policing in collaboration with the public, military, and other paramilitary agencies.
