Nasarawa State Commissioner For Environment and Natural Resources, Princess, Dr Margaret Elayo, who also chairs the State Steering Committee of the ACReSAL project, has expressed her confidence that the project’s benefits will prominently impact rural communities.

Dr Elayo made her remarks during a face-to-face session with ACReSAL staff and the state project coordinator, aimed at discussing potential challenges in project execution.

This meeting held on Friday marked the first of its kind since she took over the ministry and was designed to brainstorm solutions to bottlenecks hindering project progress while providing junior staff a platform to voice their concerns.

The session offered junior staff valuable opportunities to share their challenges with the State Steering Committee Chair, fostering an atmosphere of guidance and collaboration aimed at enhancing synergy between junior and senior staff.

After listening to staff submissions, Dr Elayo reflected on the meeting’s objective of aligning team goals.

She urged the ACReSAL team to unite in their efforts to ensure that project outcomes effectively reach the most vulnerable beneficiaries at the financial bottom pyramid.

Highlighting the importance of the project, Dr Elayo stressed, “Abdullahi Sule, our governor, is ACReSAL and ACReSAL is Abdullahi Sule. For every project executed, ensure a signpost with the governor’s picture, so that anyone who sees the project will know that ACReSAL initiated it.”

Addressing concerns about sustainability and accountability in intervention projects across Africa, Dr Elayo pledged that under her leadership, ACReSAL projects in Nasarawa State would serve as a reference point among the 19 Northern states benefiting from this initiative.

She expressed gratitude to the World Bank for including Nasarawa State as a beneficiary.

Earlier in the meeting, the state project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Dr Napoleon Gyobe, highlighted several successful outcomes achieved by project interventions in rural communities, just as he assured full support to Dr Elayo to ensure continued success of the project.
