Lafia Stands Still As Emir Muhammad Confers Traditional Title On Sen. Wada

Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital was on Saturday agog with celebration and jubilation as Emir of Lafia and Chairman Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs ,Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad Rtd, conferred to Senator Representing Nasarawa West, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Wadada, the Sarkin Yakin Keffi with the traditional tittle of Magajin Dangin Lafian Bare-Bari.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume congratulated Sen. Wadada for the honour which he described as well deserved.
He stated that the honour is no doubt in recognition of Wadada’s contribution to service to humanity and good governance.
On his part, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, represented by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, congratulated Wadada, describing him as a man of honour, integrity and a philanthropy, who care for the general wellbeing of his people.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for transforming the state to a modern city with projects that cut across the nooks and crannies of the state, urging him to sustain the spirit.
In his vote of thanks Governor Abdullahi Sule who is the Chief host of the occasion appreciated the Emir of Lafia for recognising Wadada and many other sons and daughters of the state with different honours.
He said, it is the all-inclusive leadership style of the Emir that is helping in achieving peace and unity among the different ethnic groups and religious in the state.
The celebrant, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, appreciated all who graced the occasion promising to consolidate on what he is doing in terms of implementing programmes that are of of direct benefit to the people of the state and beyond.
He said the honour would spur him to do more in governance and service to humanity.
Earlier, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad Rtd, the Emir of Lafia, welcomed all that graced the occasion and expressed satisfaction for seeing the day that he fulfilled the will made by his father and the father of Senator Ahmad Wadada in maintaining and sustaining the mutual relationship that existed among them many years ago.
According to the Emir, Alhaji Danyaya, the father of Senator Ahmad Wadada Aliyu was a very close associate of my father who live a life of trust, caring, love and mutual understanding.
Other dignitaries in attendance included
the speaker, House of Representatives (represented), Minister of Women Affairs, Imam Suleiman, Minister of Arts and Culture, Musawa, Senators Muhammed Ogoshi Onawo, Adams Oshomole among other serving and former senators, serving and former members of House of Representatives.
Others were the deputy governor of Nasarawa State Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, governor of Bauchi State Bala Muhammad and his counterpart of Niger State among other serving and former governors including Sen. Tanko Al-Makura, former governors of Bauchi and Adamawa States Adamu Muazu and Bindau, respectively, former minister, Sanusi Dagash, Auditor General of the Federation among others.
It was reported that the event marked another historic moment for the Lafia Emirate as the entire apparatus of the federal government and some states of the federation stormed the venue of the occasion in honor of Senator Ahmad Aliyu Wadada.
Groups of horse riders and praise singers also added colour to the occasion through their performances.
