The Special Adviser on Development Partners and Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) to the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Mina Horsefall, has lauded Nigerian youths as “catalysts of development” whose creativity, leadership, and determination are shaping the world.
In her goodwill message marking International Youth Day 2025, Horsefall celebrated young Nigerians making global impact, urging them especially, young women to continue driving sustainable development, fostering peace, and championing a fairer, greener future.
Quoting this year’s theme, “Local Youth Action for the SDGs and Beyond,” she stressed that “global progress begins in communities, and in every corner of the world, young people are leading the way.”
Citing the United Nations’ renewed commitment to the World Programme of Action for Youth, Horsefall reaffirmed, “When young people lead, societies thrive. Your voice, ideas, and leadership matter.”
A passionate advocate for girls’ rights and education, Horsefall has consistently championed youth empowerment.
In 2023, she marked the International Day of the Girl Child by calling for greater support for adolescent girls, echoing the UN’s position that, “if effectively supported during adolescence, girls have the potential to change the world.”
