Fiery cleric, Apostle Dr John Okoriko and founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church has again condemned the continuous use of animals blood by a cross section of churches, communities and families as items for the atonement of sins.
Okoriko, was speaking on the theme, “The Power of Atonement” during his monthly media interactive at the capitol, Ibekwe Akpan Nya in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area said, such Hebrew practices contradicts the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross as ransom or atonement for mankind.
Okoriko said, the only reconciliation needed by God is our bodies not animals blood saying, killing animals for the sake of healings, worship and atonement for gods and goddesses was idolatry against the teachings of Jesus Christ.
He said atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross thousand years ago was the final sacrifice because God had used his blood to reconcile man to himself.
“God killed an animal and used the skin to cloth Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden as substitution showing, the beginning of man to think animal should take his place, instead of him paying for his sins, dying or taking responsibility for what he did”.
According to him, “the blood of animals was impossible to cleanse man’s sins thereby causing God to offer himself as the final sacrifice to the world for the remision of our sins, Hebrew 10:4.
“The blood of animals could not take away the sins of man . This is why he came down to die as a sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world.
“The blood of animals as practiced in certain quarters was no more needed for the atonement either to cleanse sicknesses, heal the land and used for worship or any form of spiritual assignments.
“Some religion still use or worship animals to atone for their sins, and this is why Israel as a nation is still using animals for the atonement of sins.
Apostle Okoriko added that, people still believe that eggs, fouls, goats, animals, feathers of birds can be used to effect healings of the land, diseases or other forms of influences in life, and warned Christians to desist from blood sacrifices for miracles and spiritual solutions.
Okoriko, while fielding questions from callers explained that, no animal has offended God like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden saying, man decided to allow animals to die for atonement of their sins instead of them to allow themselves as sacrifice to God.
