Commissioner Pledges Robust Representation For A’Ibom At SSDC Inaugural Meeting

Akwa Ibom Commissioner on the board of the newly inaugurated South-South Development Commission (SSDC), Sir Nkereuwem Ebong, has assured that the state will reap maximum benefits from the initiatives of the commission.
Sir Ebong made the pledge while participating in the inaugural meeting of the SSDC, which was presided over by the Managing Director, Ms Usoro Akpabio in Abuja.
He said the meeting brought together commissioners from across the South-South states to deliberate on a strategic blueprint for sustainable development, economic empowerment, infrastructure expansion, and overall regional upliftment.
Describing the session as a “fruitful engagement that laid a solid foundation for the work ahead,” Sir Ebong reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Akwa Ibom people are not left out of the opportunities and projects the commission is set to roll out.
“I am confident that with unity of purpose, dedication, and collaboration, the SSDC will deliver on its mandate and bring lasting transformation to our beloved region,” he stated.
The Akwa Ibom Commissioner also commended President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for his vision and determination in making the commission a reality, noting that, his commitment to the progress of the South-South remains a source of inspiration.
With the inaugural meeting concluded, stakeholders say expectations are high that the commission would address long-standing developmental challenges in the region and set the South-South on the path of economic prosperity.
