The Sokoto Youth Emancipation Frontier (SYEF) has lambasted former Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, describing his recent political remarks as “empty grandstanding” and a “desperate attempt to remain relevant.”

This follows Tambuwal’s comments during a laughable rally over his return from introgation and detention by the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), where he claimed that his new the coalition would take over the state from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reverse what he called “misgovernance” under the current administration.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Comrade Usman Musa and made available to newsmen in Sokoto, SYEF dismissed the former governor’s speech as “watery and lacking in substance,” insisting that Tambuwal’s political style has always been rooted in opportunism and deception.

“Tambuwal and his co-travellers are simply on a fishing expedition,” Usman said. “The ADC in Sokoto is nothing more than a gathering of failed politicians looking for a new platform to pursue their selfish interests. Tambuwal’s macabre dance is a painful reminder of the long list of promises he made before 2015, which he spectacularly failed to deliver on. The people of Sokoto are still living with the trauma of his misgovernance.”

The group further noted that the people of Sokoto have moved beyond Tambuwal’s “political theatrics,” pointing to what it described as tangible improvements since Governor Ahmad Aliyu assumed office.

“Since Governor Aliyu came on board, Sokoto has witnessed a new narrative: access to clean water, improved infrastructure, better staff welfare, and development projects across the state. These are things Tambuwal failed woefully to deliver in his eight years in power,” the statement read.

SYEF urged Tambuwal to “let go of expired political tactics,” warning that the people of Sokoto are now wiser and will not be swayed by empty rhetoric.

“That ship of political chicanery, which has long been his modus operandi, has sailed,” Usman concluded.
