Seven Additional Suspects Arrested Over Federal Poly Bauchi Attack, As One Motorcycle Thief Nabbed

One month after the students unrest that took place at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, have arrested additional 7 suspects in connection with the armed robbery incident that occurred there then.
A statement issued to newsmen on Friday by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, recalled that “On August 12, 2025, the Bauchi State Police command issued a statement concerning students unrest stemming from an incident of armed robbery and assault by some unscrupulous youth from various areas within Bauchi Metropolis, including Lushi, Birshin Fulani and Birshin Gandu”.
The apprehended suspects were Mansur Yakubu, alias Chasu, Abbas Auwal, alias Abe, Musa Bala, alias Babban Nani, Zurkarlaini Aliyu, alias Baki, Muftahu Ibrahim, alias Dodo, each 20 years of age, while Aliyu Ahmadu, alias Yellow and Hamza Bala, alias R-Kelly, 21 and 29 years of age, respectively.
“The suspects mentioned above have confessed to their involvement in the crime and have implicated additional 13 accomplices, including an 18 year old individual named, Adamu Muhammad, popularly known as Daddy, a resident of Birshin Fulani. Adamu Muhammad was apprehended by detectives attached to the Yelwa Divisional Police Headquarters, on 1st September 2025.
During Interrogation Adamu Muhammad admitted to have participated in an armed robbery incident at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
He stated that the operation was a co-ordinated effort involving approximately 20 participants from Birshin Fulani, Birshin Gandu, Lushi and the larger Bauchi Metropolitan area. As the mastermind, Adamu Muhammad orchestrated plans to invade the student accommodations at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
“They robbed the students of their valuables such as mobile phones, laptops and power banks. It was revealed that the mastermind benefited from the proceeds of crime; 3 mobile phones( Oppo, Samsung and Infinix) which he sold for N40,000 through an associate Salmanu, aka Papus.
Furthermore, the suspect indicated that his group has been responsible for terrorizing the areas of Yelwa, Birshin Gandu, Birshin Fulani and Gwallameji armed with dangerous weapons and flashlights. They have unlawfully entered various residences where they seized valuables, inflicted injuries on anyone who resisted, and occasionally fled to adjacent states to evade arrest, ” CSP Wakil stated.
In another development, acting on a reported case of motorcycle theft from Abubakar Tatari-Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, the police stormed the scene and rescued 25 years old Salisu Musa, of Mararraban Liman Katagum, Bauchi, in possession of the stolen motorcycle, a black Jincheng, belonging to a student of the institution, Husseini Musa, from the student mob.
“During Interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Investigation is on going to explore more facts regarding the stolen motorcycle,” the PPRO said.
