Nigeria’s professional wrestling scene is set for a showdown as Akwa Ibom–born superstar, Victor Ebenezer Idorenyin, popularly known as Power Vic, prepares to battle Enugu State’s Agbo Chinedu for the coveted National Light Heavyweight Title Championship.
The much-anticipated clash, organised by the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation (NPWF) under the leadership of High Chief John Uche, will take place in Awka, Anambra State, between September 26 and 28, 2025.
Power Vic, who hails from Ikot Iyire, Edemeya in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, trained in the United Kingdom and has amassed several titles both at home and abroad.
Renowned for his high-flying athleticism, strength, and electrifying ring presence, he has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most sensational wrestlers.
Beyond the ring, Power Vic is also admired for his commitment to youth empowerment and community development, frequently engaging in outreach programmes that promote fitness and inspire young Nigerians to pursue their dreams.
Ahead of the championship bout, the central planning committee has appealed to the Akwa Ibom State governor, Umo Eno, the executive chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Hon. Ime Williamson Essien, as well as corporate bodies and sports enthusiasts to provide financial and moral support for POWER VIC as he seeks to bring the national title home to Akwa Ibom State.
The three-day event promises to be a spectacle, with fans expected to witness one of the fiercest rivalries in Nigeria’s professional wrestling history.
