The Gombe State Government has approved the recruitment of 2,000 personnel into the Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps (GOSTEC).

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, recently signed the GOSTEC law, which established the corps as a permanent agency responsible for environmental protection, traffic control, and community safety.

Announcing the exercise, the Director-General of GOSTEC, ACP Bappa Ibrahim (rtd), said the recruitment is open to qualified indigenes of Gombe State across three categories:

Officer Cadre – for Degree or HND holders, Middle Cadre – for NCE or OND holders and Junior Cadre – for Secondary School Certificate holders.

Applicants are required to submit a handwritten application with photocopies of their credentials and a letter of recommendation from their Ward Head, District Head, Local Government Chairman, or Divisional Police Officer (DPO). Submissions must be made at the applicants’ Local Government Headquarters.

The recruitment will run from Friday, 19th September, 2025 to Friday, 26th September, 2025, and late submissions will not be accepted.

The government explained that the exercise is part of efforts to professionalize and expand GOSTEC, while also creating employment opportunities for youths. The corps will play a vital role in keeping the state safe, organized, and environmentally clean.

Citizens seeking more information are advised to contact their local government offices or follow official communication channels for updates.
