The Commissioner representing Akwa Ibom State in the South South Development Commission (SSDC), Sir Nkereuwem Ebong, has applauded the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, describing him as “a leader who has redefined development leadership in the Niger Delta region through vision, inclusiveness, and ethical governance.”
Sir Ebong, gave the commendation in Abuja during Dr. Ogbuku’s 50th birthday celebration, held at the Hilton Transcorp Hotel over the weekend.
In his goodwill message, the SSDC Commissioner noted that Dr. Ogbuku’s half a century milestone is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of a purposeful life dedicated to service and impact.
“Dr. Ogbuku has shown an exceptional ability to inspire, empower, and guide the region towards a common goal.
“His leadership upholds strong ethical principles while fostering a positive, collaborative environment that has repositioned the Niger Delta Development Commission as a vehicle for regional growth,” Sir Ebong said.
He added that Ogbuku’s efforts have bridged divides, encouraged inclusiveness, and brought a fresh sense of direction to the region’s development agenda.
The golden jubilee celebration was attended by dignitaries from within and outside the Niger Delta, including political leaders, technocrats, lawmakers, and stakeholders in the oil-rich region, who came together to honor a man many described as a “symbol of hope and transformation.”
Guests at the event eulogized Dr. Ogbuku’s visionary leadership and his commitment to improving infrastructure, human capital development, and empowerment programs across the Niger Delta states.
Sir Ebong reiterated the need for continued synergy between the NDDC and the SSDC, stressing that, collaborative leadership is vital for addressing developmental challenges in the South South.
He used the occasion to assure that Akwa Ibom would continue to play a pivotal role in championing unity and sustainable development initiatives that would benefit all Niger Deltans.
