Dan Makayo: The Fall Of An Extraordinary Young Man

Every Human being knows that there is only one inevitable part of life that their is nothing anyone can do about it which is DEATH,what is even more inevitable is how it will happen and where?
Abubakar Manga passed on yesterday in a very mysterious and sudden circumstances.I first met him through his Royal Highness the Emir of Gombe on the day we were travelling to Morocco.When his passport was sent to me for visa I could not place the name nor capture the Face until the Chief of staff to Gov.Inuwa yahaya informed me who is was,since then we became so close throughout the trip to Morocco.
Dan Makayo became one of the close persons to me in the 25man Delegation.I found in him a highly curious person,engaging,gentle,understanding and full of humility,if we go out to an eatry he will say”BABAN YAYA”(Zauna in kawo maka).That singular behaviour endeared him to me.
I remembered a particular incident during our build up to our trip to Morocco.We arrived lagos from Abuja in a chartered flight while at our transit Hotel in lagos we discovered that the luggage of HRH The Emir of Gombe was forgotten in Abuja,I met DAN MAKAYO and said to him How can I inform the Emir that his luggage was forgotten in Abuja? He said it should just go and tell him.i said NO.HRH is a brother but now his is The Emir of Gombe not thesame person i know some years back.I said to Dan Makayo that for me a Coordinator of the trip to Morocco I have a responsibility to ensure that everyone gets his luggage but on this I must follow protocol you are more closer to HRH than me beside you are his friend,he nominated you as the only person to accompany him on this trip,you understand his body language,you can predict his reaction to issues like this above all you know how to communicate in Royalty language.I said the SANTURAKI I know yestetday is today the Emir of Gombe so I insist he takes responsibility.He then said BABAN YAYA,”Wannan dalilen naka ko a united Nation karshe kenan”So he went to inform HRH,few minutes later when I went to brief the ADC to The Governor DAN MAKAYO Called me to say HRH wants to see me.Unknown to me DAN MAKAYO has narrated all that I said to him.As soon as I I appeared before the EMIR he said”Ahmed that is normal it happens,so dont worry let’s make arrangment to get the luggage,you could have just come straight as tell me we are all one and together”I feel humbled by HRH Show of understanding.
Humiity meets Humility that is the Match between HRH and DAN.MAKAYO.Their Chemistry matched.
At the End of the Mission, HRH and DAN MAKAYO proceeded to SAUDI ARABIA to perform Umra and left their luggage with me to bring it back to Nigeria for them and straight to Gombe.On their return Dan Makayo collected their luggage and since then we Became so close and friends.
During the last Sallah Procession I remembered while waving me he said BABAN YAYA Ka buya.
I am imagining what is going on in the Mind of HRH The Emir of Gombe Right now.Indeed we lost a Gem and a Jewel whose character that defines a Gentleman is impeccable.
We lost a friend,a gentle man,and a YOUTH AMBASSADOR.May His SOUL REST IN PEACE.Dan Makayo we will miss you.
