The Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer (RG/CEO), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, has disclosed that, the commission will deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) to tackle the backlog of 7,000 registration applications and other challenges.
He stated this while addressing participants at a stakeholders forum held in Kano on Monday.
According to him, CAC is working assiduously on the deployment of the AI driven portal to ensure customers satisfaction and stabilise its operations.
Magaji added that in a bid to address the barrage of calls which are no fewer than 3,000 emails per day, the commission opted for an AI solution that has the capacity to read 3000 emails within a minutes, comprehend the messages, dictate duplicate requests as well as reroute requests to the appropriate units /departments for instant response.
He emphasised that CAC had identified its problems saying that solutions were already in motion address them.
The Registrar-General noted that the transition has not been without pain as some customers have experienced delays in approvals mostly for services not captured in phase one of the AI deployment.
He however explained that the delays were due to the overwhelming volume of requests flooding the system adding that, the utilisation of AI will ensure speed and accuracy to attend to requests by Customers.
The event also featured a presentation by the Special Assistant to the Registrar-General on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mohammed Abdullahi titled: “Overview of the ICRP 3.0”.
Several stakeholders spoke at the interactive forum, including the Chairman, NBA Kano Branch, Usman Umar Fari, the Chairman, NBA Ungoggo Branch, Ahmad Abubakar Gwadabe, representative of ICPC, Sani Tukur, the representatives of EFCC, Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad and Kabiru Sallau representing ICAN, Kano Branch.
Others include; Mohammed Bello Umar (MAN Chairman, Kano), Umar Rabe Musa of the FIRS, Hafsat Musa Karaye of Kano High Court of Justice and Dr Garba Ubale Danbatta (GM Radio Nigeria (Pyramid) Kano).
