Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, have arrested 5 suspects in connection with raping a minor at different occasions in Zadawa village, Misau LGA.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil on Tuesday.
The statement said that on 12th August 2025, at about 2230 hours, one Yusuf Mohammed and Danjuma Mohammed, of area 2 Misau LGA, Bauchi State, reported at Misau Divisional Police Headquarters, that sometimes in the month of July, 2025, the 5 suspects individually used monetary incentives and lured their daughter( name withheld) into various places of their convenience and, allegedly, deceitfully raped her.
The names of the suspects were given as: Mohammed Sanusi; 42 years old Suleiman Adamu; 45 years old Umar Adamu; 40 years old Musa Ibrahim; and 47 years old Shu’aibu Abubakar, all of Zadawa village, Misau LGA of Bauchi State.
“Upon receipt of the report, detectives were immediately despatched to the scene. They evacuated the victim to the Federal Medical Center, Misau, for medical examination, while the alleged suspects were arrested for interrogation, during which they freely confessed to the alleged crime committed.
“The 1st suspect, Mohammed Sanusi, confessed to having nurtured the private part of the victim since she was age 5, where she used to play in his house with her age mates and used that opportunity to influence her into his room and fingered her private part frequently, upto the level where he penetrates into her private part in different occasions.
“Also, the 2nd suspect, Suleiman Adamu, confessed that he sometimes sat at the doorstep of his shop at Zadawa village, where the minor was passing, and stepped on his legs. He questioned her and she told him that she was hungry and needed N200 to buy food, but the suspect refused, then the victim offered to have sexual intercourse with him on the condition of granting her request. He agreed and fulfilled his promise with N500 after the sexual intimacy each time on 3 occasions, including on his farm located at the village.
“Again, the 3rd suspect, Musa Ibrahim, confessed to having taking advantage of the minor when she asked him for money and lured her to a shop located at Zadawa, having carnal knowledge of her on the promise of giving her N500.
“In addition, the 4th suspect, Umar Adamu, admitted and disclosed that he sometimes meets the victim by the roadside within Zadawa village when he was just back from Taraba state and she asked for help of N500 and he refused, then she offered herself if he was interested. The suspect promised to grant the request if she cooperated well and subsequently had carnal knowledge of her based on the promise.
“On the part of the 5th suspect, Shu’aibu Abubakar, he confessed that he had the story of the victim from his friend, Musa Ibrahim, who gave him the complete history of how the minor was seeking for money and had intercourse with several men. Thereafter, the suspect approached her, had intercourse with her and gave her N500, ” the statement explained.
Following a medical examination conducted at the Federal Medical Center, Misau, the findings read that the victim was penetrated with some seminal fluid within her vulva and private part.
The CP, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Bauchi, to thoroughly investigate the case and charge the matter to court, and vowed that the command would leave no stone unturned in this circumstance.
