Army Distributes Fertilizer To Six Communities In Katstina

The Nigerian Army has disbursed fertilisers to residents of communities around the 17 Natsinta barracks in Katsina in a move designed to deepen civil-military relations.
The exercise was formally launched by the commander of 17 Brigade, Brigadier General B. O. Omapariola, who represented the Chief of Army Staff.
He explained that the initiative aims to support local farmers and reinforce the cordial relationship between the barracks and neighbouring settlements.
The distribution covers six surrounding communities: Natsinta, Katoge, Garke, Dan’negaba, Şarkın Aiki, and Tsangaya, with each ward head receiving twenty bags each of Batalizer, NPK, and Urea fertilizers.
The Ward Head of Natsinta, Daiyabu Aruna, spoke on behalf of community, thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity and commended the 17 Brigade Commander for what he called “a generous effort to assist our people.”
Aruna assured that the fertilizers would be shared among local farmers “so they will use it on their farms for planting.” He further highlighted the strong partnership between the army and the surrounding communities.
“We are very happy with this brigade. We have a good relationship and we help each other whenever the need arises,” he said, noting that even local schoolchildren often interact with the soldiers.
He then expressed continued cooperation with the Army, describing the initiative as another step in sustaining peace and development around the Natsinta Barracks.
