Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam lanre Ossai-Onilu, has disclosed that #59 billion have been disbursed to over 600,000 students already benefitting from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund(NELFund).

The DG who made the disclosure at a press conference to flag-off nationwide enlightenment campaign at the Federal Secretariat, Bauchi, added that the Federal Government’s Social Safety Nets, has, under the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, empowered over 2 million households, with Trader Moni and Farmer Moni, being rolled out as interest free loans.

Lanre Ossai-Onilu, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi, emphasized the agency’s mandate to bridge the gap between government and citizens by ensuring that Nigerians are well informed and actively engaged in national development.

He said that the campaign will be implemented across the 36 states, the FCT, and 774 LGAs, with engagements including press conferences, town hall meetings, school visitations, motor parks and market rallies, advocacy visits to religious and traditional leaders, and road shows.

” The nationwide sensitization campaign focuses on 5 critical thematic areas designed to strengthen citizens awareness, deepen trust in government and promote national unity, ” the DG stated.

Ossai-Onilu urged citizens of Bauchi State and the country in general to embrace the campaign and ensure active participation in the engagements, and serve as partners in building a stronger, united, and prosperous nation.

” Our campaigns are not just about information, they are about listening to Nigerians, engaging them and fostering a sense of ownership in government policies and programs, ” he stated.

The 5 thematic areas of focus of the campaign, according to the DG, include government policies, programs and activities.
