Gombe State chairman of the association Aisha Abdullahi Dukku made the assertion while rounding up activities for the commemoration of this year’s World Radiography Day organised by the association in the state.

According to her, shortage of radiographers poses challenges in hospitals calling on health students to study and specialise in the field of radiography to improve health in the modern technology.

She said the development of medical work in this era makes it necessary to study the field of radiography because it can detect disease and cure it easily.

“Radiographers are professionals who operate imaging machines, ensuring patient’s safety while acquiring clear images for diagnosis. Their expertise is crucial, as the quality of the image can greatly influence the accuracy of diagnosis.”, she pointed out.

Our correspondent reports that after the ceremony, the association conducted free ultrasound scanning for about 100 women at the Herwagana primary healthcare facility in the state and visited various secondary schools in the state to create awareness on the significance of radiography and advocate its studies among students.
