The Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP John Timfon has been assumed work as the new spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
The new (PPRO) takes over from CSP Odiko MacDon as the 24th image maker of the Command and, second female Police Public Relations Officer after Cordelia Nwawe since the State was created in 1987.
She is from Akwa Ibom and holds LL. B (Hons.) degree in Law from the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State as well as a member of the Regular Course 2.
A statement issued by the State Police Command and signed by DSP Lawrence Anine said, ASP John Timfon until her new posting, was the Head of programmes at the Nigeria Police Radio, 99.1 FM, Abuja.
The statement further said, “Akwa Ibom State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeoye Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has approved the posting of a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) to Akwa Ibom State Police Command. She is ASP John Timfon.
“The new PPRO takes over from CSP Odiko Macdon (ANIPR), who was recently promoted to the higher rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP)”.
While the Command appreciates the immediate past PPRO, CSP Odiko Macdon for his professionalism, the it enjoined the people of the State to accord the new PPRO, the needed co-operation to succeed in her new role.
