A tiler, Sunday Felix, was docked on Monday in a Grade I Area Court in Karu, Abuja for allegedly stealing an iPhone pro 11
worth N250, 000.
The police charged Felix, 28 , of Angwuan Tiv, Karu, Abuja with criminal conspiracy and theft.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Osho Olanrewaju, told the court that the complainant who lives in Karu , Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police station.
Olanrewaju said that the complainant parked his car in a compound very close to his house and by the next day when he got to his car, he discovered that his iPhone 11 pro with Glo SIM number 08055828983 worth N250, 000 was stolen.
He added that during Police investigation, the defendant was arrested through electronic tracking device and he confessed that he bought the Glo sim card in another phone.
The prosecutor said that all effort to recover the iPhone failed.
Olanrewaju said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 97b and 288 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Malam Umar Mayana, admitted the defendant bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum, who must live within the court’s jurisdiction.
Mayana also ordered the sureties to submit verifiable means of identification and residential address to the court and police.
He adjourned the case until May 15, for hearing
