Court remands security guard for stealing laptops, household items

A Kado Grade I Area Court, Abuja on Thursday, ordered that a security guard, Muktare Mustapha, who pleaded guilty to stealing two laptops and other household items be remanded in the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, for stealing

The Presiding Judge, Malam Muhammed Wakili, remanded the defendant until March 13 for sentencing.

The police charged Mustapha of Kado Estate, FCT Abuja with house breaking and theft.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel,  Mr Stanley Nwafoaku  told the court that Khadijat Abubakar of ‘B’ close, Kado Estate, FCT Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp police station, on Feb. 27, at about 6 p.m.

Nwafoaku alleged that on Feb. 21, at about 5 p.m, the defendant being the security guard at the house of the complainant, broke into her house.

He said that thedefendant also stole his employer’s umbrella, shoes, clothes, and designer perfumes.

The  offence, he said, contravenes sections 347, 289 and 287 of the Penal Code Law.
