Few hours to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries, an aspirant in Jigawa state Dr Bashir Adamu has withdrawn from the race.
In a letter addressed to the national chairman of the PDP today 24th May, 2022, the aspirant said he purchased, returned nomination form and was screened accordingly for the primary election.
According to him, he stepped out of the contest in order to promote unity and peaceful coexistence among the people of Jigawa state.
“That I am a very loyal party member who is sincerely concerned about the unity and progress, peaceful coexistence of the people of Jigawa state and Nigeria at large”. He said.
Daylight Reporters reports that the remaining aspirants are Mustapha Sule Lamido, son of the former governor of the state Sule Lamido and Sale Shehu, former minister of state for works during the obasanjo regime
