As part of efforts to diversify the state’s economy, Gov. Bello Matawalle has directed the revival of Livestock Investigation and Breeding Centres in Zamfara.
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibo, made this known on Wednesday when he led officials on a fact-finding visit to one of the centres in Kwatarkwashi town in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner said “ if properly utilised, the centres would attract more revenue for the state to complement revenue from the mining of solid minerals.’’
The commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry; the General Manager, State Agency for Community and Social Development, Alhaji Kabiru Gayari and two others.
Three other livestock centres are located in Gusau, Mada and Gidan Jaja towns in Gusau and Zurmi Local Government Areas of the state.
