In spite of the the raging banditry depleting their population and ravaging their economy, which seems overwhelming the capacity of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to combat, the masses of Zamfara State seem holding the president dear to their heart.
Daylight Reporters observed that they flooded the streets of the state capital, Gusau, Thursday, 27th January, to receive him on his scheduled, but abruptly cancelled, visit to commiserate with them over the scary resurgence in banditry activities across the state.
Elated by what it described as the show of loyalty and love for President Buhari by the people, the Zamfara State chapter of the ruling APC, under the leadership of Tukur Umar Danfulani, described the massive turnout as unprecedented.
“We are very confident and hopeful that in spite of Mr President’s tight schedule, the visit will soon be rescheduled In Shaa Allah,” the party said in a statement by its spokesman, Yusuf Idris Gusau.
“It is also our hope and prayer that as usual, our people will continue to be supportive to the Matawalle-led APC administration in the state so that we can continue to garner more dividends of democracy,” the party said.
