The stakeholders of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State converged, Thursday, 16th June, to give final seal to the reunification of all its factions as part of strategies to maintain its grip of power beyond the 2023 elections.
The meeting which held in Gusau and chaired by the state Chairman of the party, Tukur Umar Danfulani, had in attendance the representatives of the collapsed factions of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and former Senator Kabiru Marafa as well as the factions of incumbent Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
It focused on strengthening what was achieved and the strategies to be adopted ahead of the 2023 general elections, while ensuring the total elimination of any perceived divisions among members and supporters.
The State Chairman who re-emphasized his pledge in running a just and fair leadership to all members, said his doors would continue to remain open for advice as well as the settlement of any problem to move the party forward.
He particularly commended the major players in the reunification, most notably Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and former Senator Kabiru Marafa for the reconciliation achieved and promised to uphold all the agreements reached while running the affairs of the party.
In their separate remarks, Alhaji Lawal Liman Gabdon Kaura and Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako appreciated the convention of the meeting and assured that since the party relies on the togetherness of members, the unity would be sustained.
They suggested the extension of the reunification and reconcilation meeting to all the local government areas of the state to fully integrate members of the party in its operations.
The meeting was attended by the State Deputy chairman, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri; Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima; former Secretary of the party, Sani Musa Talata Mafara; Alhaji Abdullahi Jao Zurmi; Engr Babangida Abdullahi Gusau; Sambo Marafa; Alh Babangida Madawakin Anka; and all the State Working Committee Members.
