The Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Tukur Umar Danfulani, has described the late Emir of Kotorkoshi, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Mai-Kwatarkwashi, as an exemplary administrator who was just and fair to all.
Mai-Kwatarkwashi died, Thursday, 9th June, at the age of 96, having ruled his domain for 61 years, becoming, until his death, the oldest traditional monarch in Northern Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the state’s APC spokesman, Yusuf Idris Gusau, Danfulani said the late Mai-Kwatarkwashi “was an astute leader, administrator and Islamic Scholar who served his people, his religion of Islam and all those he came across without segregation till his last breath.”
The Chairman expressed his condolences to the government and people of Zamfara especially the people of Kotorkoshi Emirate and the deceased entire immediate and extended family members, praying Allah to give all the fortitude to bear the loss.
He prayed for the repose of this great leader in Jannatu Firdaus.
