Youths Must Set Agenda For Its National Conference – Rev. Sam Oye
By Anthony Maliki, Abuja
On the backdrop of the proposed National Youth Conference, the Lead Pastor, The Transformation Church (TTC), Rev. (Dr.) Sam Oye has provided a clear template a successful conference.
He said, most importantly, the agenda for the conference must be set by the youth.
Rev. Oye who spoke to newsmen in Abuja pointed out that the conference older people and government can be allowed as observers at the conference.
President Bola Tinubu in his Independence Day broadcast on October 1 announced a 30-days National Youth Conference but didn’t give the modalities.
He said it cannot be a youth conference if the older people set the agenda.
According to him, it is now for older people to listen to the younger ones who feel neglected for long.
The cleric, who was selected by the Government of United States in 2010 for a National Leadership Conference, noted that the reason for youth restiveness in Nigeria is because the youth always feel nobody is listening to them.
Rev. Oye also spoke about community service by the Transformation Church saying it provided social amenities at LEA Primary School, Galadima, constructed a pathway way to a Mosque, provided free health services amongst others.
