The Nigerian Youth Parliament on Wednesday dismissed as false and unfounded rumours that it endorsed the creation of Southwest Youth Parliament.
This is contained in a statement signed by Clerk to the Parliament, Ibrahim M Hassan.
It said that the said endorsement letter was forged by a former member of the Parliament, stressing that it goes against the framework of the Parliament.
“The attention of the secretariat of the Nigerian Youth Parliament had been the drawn to a forged endorsement letter going round in the country, particularly in the Southwest, that the Nigerian Youth Parliament endosed the creation of Southwest Youth Parliament.
“The endorsement letter was forged and signed by one Amusat Olajide aka Segrenene, who was a former member of the Nigerian Youth Parliament.
This publication is malicious and misleading that goes against framework of the the Nigerian Youth Parliament which allows the establishment of National and State Youth Parliaments only.”
“Already, the secretariat of the Nigerian Youth Parliament had forwarded the matter to the Department of State Security for further investigation.” The statement reads
