The Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA) says it is collaborating with Zenith Bank to hold a capacity building programme on e-banking and digital business for youths in the area.
Dr Ahmed Apatira, the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, in a statement on Wednesday said that no fewer than 200 grassroot youths would benefit from the programme which would enable them to be self reliant.
“This programme is geared toward exposing the youths to the digital world of banking.
“The capacity building which is in partnership with Zenith Bank PLC is to expose the youth to the digital world of banking.
“The training will teach them how they can get a livelihood and generate revenue within their localities,” the chairman said.
The council boss said that the initiative was geared toward onboarding the participants as agents of Zenith bank through the deployment and use of their banking platform, ZMoney App.
He added that the youth would also be trained on how to access the e-business products to support small and medium scale enterprises.
“This particular training would expose the youths to numerous benefits hiding in digital banking and business sector,” he added.
The chairman, however, implored any interested youths to signify and apply through the council’s mail box.
