Younger Sister of Taraba Governor Dies in Abuja From Gunshot Wound

The younger sister of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, Atsi Kefas, who sustained bullet wounds from accidental shot from the gun of one of the security personnels on the convoy of Mrs. Jummai Kefas, her mother has died in Abuja Tuesday.
Mother and daughter were traveling along Wukari-Kente road on December 5, when they were ambushed by suspected kidnappers along in the process of engaging them, one of the security personnels shot blank and incidentally hit the governor’s sister.
A family source said, Atsi, 44 years, died in a private hospital in Abuja.
Last week Thursday alleged kidnappers attacked a vehicle in which mother of the Governor, while a security personnel in the vehicle who attempted to return fire to the gunmen accidentally shot Atsi who was seated next to the governor’s mother.
Atsi was initially taken to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari where her condition was stabilized before she was flown to Abuja for further treatment.
