The immediate past Commissioner for Youth Empowerment in Gombe state and proprietor, FC Yarmalight, Gombe, Malam Farouk Yarma has hailed the appointment of Oladuni Oyekale and Alhaji Kwairanga as assistant coaches of the Under-20 and Under-13 national teams respectively.
Their appointments were announced by Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) in a statement on Friday and Yarma believes that they are appointments well deserved.
In a statement published on his personal Facebook profile, Yarma said he is confident that the duo, who have tremendously served Gombe State as players and coaches, will combine their experiences as players and as coaches to give the best to the National team.
His words. “Gombe State is known for producing competent football players and technocrats. The respective appointments of Coach Oladuni Oyekale and Coach Alhaji Kwairanga as assistant coaches of the Under-20 and Under-13 national teams is another pointer to that.
“These two have tremendously served Gombe State as football players and coaches, both of them were dedicative and exhibited utmost passion inputting the name of Gombe in the country’s football map.
“Their appointments as coaches of the national teams is not only a pride to Gombe State, but it is a testimony of the depth of tacticians the state posses. I congratulate them and pray that these appointments will go a long way in establishing them in international football circles.”
