The Chief Executive Officer of FC Yarmalight, Gombe, Malam Farouk Yarma, has congratulated Doma United on the club’s promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, the elite division of the nation’s domestic league.
Yarma, in a statement, said the Gombe-based club deserved their promotion due the high level of investment of the club’s proprietor, Alhaji Sulaiman Umar.
“It is heart-warming and a real delight to the entire people of Gombe State, not just football fans or Doma United fans, seeing the elevation of Doma United Football Club that has now resulted into the club’s promotion to the elite football league in the country, the NPFL,” he said.
“This success could be attributed to various functionaries of the club, the players, technical and supporting officials, the fans ,etc, but major credits should be given to the club proprietor, Alhaji Sulaiman Umar (Alhaji),” Yatma maintained.
He said the proprietor’s resilience, dedication, hard work, perseverance and generosity saw to the propulsion of the club from non-league side to the apex of the Nigerian Football League.
While wishing the Savannah Tigers success in the Nigerian Professional League, Yarma urged the state government to support the club, noting that running a private club is extremely stressful.
