The Pioneer Chairman of Gombe State Sports Commission, Malam Farouk Yarma has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Gombe Bulls despite their loss to Rivers Hoopers in the finals of the Super 8 Men’s Premier Basketball League in Abuja.
The Gombe Bulls caused a major upset on Monday, November 15 when they defeated Kano Pillars basketball club 79-67 in one of the semi-final matches played at the Indoor sports hall of the MKO Abiola national stadium.
Although the Bulls lost the finals yesterday to Rivers Hoopers, Yarma remained elated by their performance and urged them to sustain the momentum.
“Gombe Bulls was resuscitated when I was the Executive Chairman of Gombe Sports Commission. A lot of sacrifices were made and we scaled many hurdles.
“It is gratifying to know that the seed we planted has germinated into a viable force that is competing and conquering even top opponents. The achievement of the team gives me a lot of pride.
