By Adewale Elisha Adeyanju.
Prior to the suspension of Dr. Betta Edu, the name of Queen Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho became synonymous with humanitarian services. Her Foundation – Queen Adenike Foundation (QAT) is always in the news providing services to the poor and the needy and this is consistently practiced thus bring the Queen and her acts into public consciousness.
The public discover that, this Queen has vowed to commit her life to the service of the poor. She’s convinced in life that there is no better cause for her in life than to give her life, talents and God-given resources to fight against the neglects of the downtrodden. She started getting admirers. Soon she has a large followership. Her acts won her hearts across the lenght and breadth of the nation at every passing day!
She knew how it felt to have access to no decent meals. She knew what it is like to be penniless and depends solely on mere hope. She hobnobs with the poor despite her wealth and comfortable status in life. She freely mingles with and among them and made herself available to all.
She had come to know that menial jobs are far from able to avail people a life outside the awful experience of hand-to-mouth survival where innocent souls have themselves trapped in the vicious circle of woe and want! She want to be the voice for the voiceless and she wants to bridge the gap between the haves and haves nots.
She’s a journalist’s delights anyday, one voice that millions of the poor and vulnerable people like to read and listen to. Her views on national issues were rarely taken for granted. Queen Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho was very passionate about Nigeria. She desires a progressive Nigeria. She longed to see things turn around for the poor, the downtrodden, those with disabilities of various categories; in fact all law-abiding and hardworking Nigerians in general
The daily scenes of abject penury across the stupendously rich land called Nigeria, was a reality that promotes her to offer her service to humanity by helping to reduce poverty and transformed lives of Nigerians. Bound by philosophies of Leadership by example, the lovely Queen has been a beacon of hope to youths across the length and breadth of the country, she exemplified leadership among women and provide the same among the vulnerable and persons with disabilities community.
