The former governor of Jigawa state and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), Dr. Sule Lamido, has asked members of the ruling party: “who is original in All Progressives Congress (APC)?
This is coming barely few days after the former Speaker of the Nigerian house of representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara returned to All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was before the 2019 general elections.
Recall that Dogara was led to meet President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Friday by the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker/National Planning Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Sule Lamido at the weekend twitted @sule_lamido “If hopping from one political party to another is lack of principle and ideology, who is original in APC? Are you all not migrants from other Parties? You live in a world of your own.”
This is in reaction to the statement of a chieftain of APC, Itse Sagay, who had earlier condemned the return of the former speaker to APC.
Sagay, who is the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), described the return of former Speaker of the House of Representatives to APC as a big setback for the image of the party.
He said the APC, as a principled party, should not have allowed Dogara back in its fold.
He said: “For me, this is a big setback for the image of the APC. I think it’s an illustration of the fact that we are yet to adopt ideology and principles in our politics. Because if you have an ideology and philosophy, you won’t be hopping from one party to another.
