The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has raised alarm over increasing acts of transformer oil and cables theft in its franchise.
According to the Management, the rampant cases being recorded have really called for concern, hence the need for communities and individuals to assist the company in nipping this nefarious activity in their areas.
The problem which has almost become a yearly event when hoodlums take advantage of rains to steal KEDCO’s equipment and installation and this needs to be halted.
Besides the economic sabotage of this act for KEDCO, it also affects supply for some days when oil and cables are stolen from any transformer which deny customers of their comfort and right to maximum satisfaction.
In his message, the MD/CEO of KEDCO, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna warned that anyone caught would not be taken lightly but treated to the full weight of the law.
“Our investment in power installation is to serve our customers and not hoodlums, hence, we have strenthened our surveillance in that regard so as to guarantee our customers’ satisfaction.”
