We’ll Continue to Collaborate With Police, Other Security Agencies to Tackle Insecurity, Neighborhood Watch Promises ,

The volunteer security outfit, Nigeria Neighborhood Watch has promised to continue collaborating with the police and other security agencies to tackle insecurity challenges in the country.
National Commandant, Samaila Shuaibu, made the promise during activities marking its 49th anniversary in Bauchi adding that, both conventional and non conventional security outfits must collaborate in order to bring to address insecurity in the country.
He appealed to the federal and state governments to provide them with operational vehicles to enhance their operations.
The National Commandant said, they are present in 19 states and they are committed to support national security efforts.
He acknowledged and appreciated the support given to them by the Nigeria Police describing the police as a friendly partner for peace.
Shuaibu urged Nigerians to partner with the Nigerian Neighbourhood Watch and Nigeria Police for their overall benefit.
He said, “As part of the celebration, the outfit has strengthened collaboration with police in Bauchi state as our officers are committed to discharging their duties out of love for peace for the country.Police is your friend. If you see something, say something”.
In his remarks, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad who was given an excellent award by the outfit urged them to be professional in the discharge of their duties and avoid going against the law especially as regards fundamental human rights laws.
He said, “I urge you to be professional so as not to breach the rights of the citizens. We should also not give the space for criminal elements to claim right in launching their atrocities.
“We should be vigilant in the discharge of our duties to professionally uncovered crimes and criminality,” he said.
According to him, security outfits like Neighborhood Watch are assisting the police and making their work easy.
The 49th anniversary celebration brought together officials of the organization, law enforcement agencies, and government representatives as well as all commandants of the outfit in the North Eastern states and other parts of the country which demonstrates nationwide presence.
