Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State yesterday appealed to the residents of Kwami local government area of the state to re-elect him in the 2023 governorship election pointing out that his administration has constructed about 56 kilometers roads in the area.
He made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the district head of Malam Sidi in Kwami local government before the flag off of his campaign rally in the town.
According to him, his government has not forgotten the area in projects distribution alleging that the previous administration did not execute a N100 million worth project there in its eight years in power.
“The previous government did not execute a N100 million worth project in Kwami local government. But everyone has seen what we did. At least, everyone has seen the road we constructed from Mararraba to Jar kwami, a road from Bojude to Dare. They are 56 kilometers long. We will do more if re-elected.
“Our mission is to execute development projects. Road makes life good and easy because it helps farmers to transport their produce to markets, pregnant woman can be taken to hospital and children will be taken to school easily if there are good roads”. He opined.
While also canvassing support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Inuwa said their candidate will continue with the oil exploration in the state if elected Nigeria’s president next year.
“What I will gladly inform you is that the NNPC GMD told me that there is abundant oil and gas beneath the soil in Gojude, Funakaye down to Yobe and Chad. Peace, harmony and our commitment were instrumental to the commencement of the exploration of oil in the state.
“We didn’t stop at that but met with the national chairman of our party and asked him to invite our presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come and promise us to continue with the project for our benefits. He came and made a pledge to continue with the exploration project.
“So, if you re-elect Inuwa and that pledge is not redeemed, blame me and senator Sa’idu Alkali because we are duty bound to follow it up. That is leadership. By God’s grace, we will not fail”. He assured.
