Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, struggled to pronounce the figure for the state’s 2025 Appropriation Bill during a presentation at the state house of assembly.
A video of the presentation, Tuesday, has gone viral provoking mixed reactions in social media.
During the presentation of the budget Appropriation Bill, tagged “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo” Governor Okpebholo visibly faltered trying to pronounce the N605 billion figure, but continued despite the lapse.
In the budget, 37 percent of the total estimates, which equals N223 billion, would be dedicated to recurrent expenditure, while the remaining N381 billion or 63 percent, would be allocated for capital projects.
“This budget is a product of extensive consultations and embodies my administration’s commitment to achieving its five-point agenda: security, infrastructural development, healthcare, food sufficiency and education,” the Governor noted.
According to him, N162 billion will be allocated for road infrastructure including development of the Ramat Park flyover, a significant project aimed at transforming Benin City and upgrading its transportation network.
