Tribute To Wazirin Jema’a, Alh. (Dr.) Aliyu Mohammed

On this solemn day, we honor the memory of an extraordinary leader, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Mohammed, Wazirin Jema’a, who departed this world on 15th December 1997. As we mark the anniversary of his passing, we reflect on a life devoted to fear of God, service, unity, and the betterment of humanity.
Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed was a man of remarkable character and accomplishment.
As the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria from 1st January 1990 to 26th August 1993, he served with distinction, bringing wisdom, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the nation’s highest administrative office.
His tenure during this critical period was marked by visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the welfare of all Nigerians.
In addition to his national service, he held the revered traditional titles of Wazirin Jema’a and Zege Mule ‘U’ Tiv, reflecting his deep connection to and respect for Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
As Wazirin Jema’a, he exemplified leadership rooted in humility and selflessness, while as Zege Mule ‘U’ Tiv—a title bestowed by the Tiv people—he symbolized unity, mutual respect, and his unwavering commitment to fostering peace and understanding among Nigeria’s diverse communities.
Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed’s life was a shining example of service and sacrifice. His compassion, wisdom, and humility endeared him to all who knew him.
Whether in public office or private life, he consistently sought to uplift others and leave a positive impact on the world around him.
Today, as we remember him, we celebrate his enduring legacy. He stood for justice, accountability, and the belief that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and unity. His contributions to the nation and his role as a bridge-builder among its people remain an inspiration to generations.
May Allah (SWT) grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus and continue to bless and guide those he left behind. Though he departed 27 years ago, his memory remains vibrant in our hearts, and his legacy continues to illuminate our paths.
Rest in peace, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Mohammed, Wazirin Jema’a. You are forever cherished and remembered.
May Allah SWT grant him Aljannah Firdaus along with his forefathers and bless his descendants.
