Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, says emergence of President Bola Tinubu as Chairman, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a reflection of outstanding leadership qualities .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that President Tinubu emerged chairman of ECOWAS at its 63rd ordinary session of the Authority of West African Heads of State and Government in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.
In a statement signed by the Director- General Press affairs, Mr Ismaila Uba-Misilli, Yahaya said Tinubu’s election was a great achievement.
“It also reflects his outstanding leadership qualities, visionary disposition, dedication, and commitment to the development of Nigeria and West African region,” he said.
Yahaya who is also the chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, expressed optimism that the Nigerian President’s leadership of ECOWAS would inspire the people of West Africa to work together toward a common goal of peace, prosperity, and progress.
“Your chairmanship of ECOWAS is a testament to your visionary leadership and your unwavering commitment to the promotion of peace, security, and economic prosperity in the region.
“I have no doubt that under your leadership, ECOWAS will continue to play a vital role in promoting regional integration, economic growth, and sustainable development,’’ Yahaya said.
The governor further said; ” As we face the challenges of the 21st century, it is more important than ever for leaders to work together and address the complex issues that affect our countries.”
According to the governor, Tinubu’s tenure in ECOWAS will provide a unique opportunity to bring the member states together to address regional challenges for a brighter future of West African states .
