Suspected All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs in Jigawa State have allegedly destroyed Billboards belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido and others in Hadejia town.
The thugs were said to have carried out the destruction in the wee hours of Saturday as they prepare to hold a meeting in the town.
It could be recalled that, the PDP had earlier on Friday held meeting with members of the party which the party said has unsettled the APC because of the large number of people that attended the meeting.
Confirming the incidence to our reporter on telephone on Sunday, the Director Campaign for Atiku Mustapha Sule Lamido In Jigawa State, Umar Danjani Hadejia said, the thugs mobilised and destroyed the Billboards of PDP candidates.
He said, “It is all about their fear of losing election on the state. They were scared of PDP because of what they are seeing whenever we hold rallies or meetings in the state.
“We held a meeting in Hadejia on Friday. The massive crowd scared them to the marrow. The number of women that attended the meeting has unsettled them.
“Women are resilient voters and they will vote PDP. They know that, the votes from those women can surely give them a massive blow to lose the election in Hadejia. That is why they reported to the destruction of the Billboards of our candidates.
“Funny enough, they set their meeting on the Hadejia weekly market day, because they know people will not attend their meeting but knowing that, the town is always filled up on market days, they want to use it as a cover to hide the reality because they know people will not attend.
“We have been holding our rallies and meetings peacefully. Our members are disciplined, that was why there was no reaction. We cannot be provoked by their antics. Our goal is to defeat the APC and liberate the people Jigawa State from their grip and underdevelopment of our state”.
He added that, they have series of meetings and rallies lined up in all parts of the state which was what the APC wants to stop.
He added,”We have made a commitment to the people and they are witnesses to the development brought to the state by the PDP administration. Actions speak for themselves. We will make a comeback and make the lives of Jigawa State people better that what it is”.
