The appointment of Jake Dan-Azumi as the new Chief of Staff to the speaker of the National Assembly, Tajudeen Abbas has been greeted with a lot of congratulatory messages.
Dan-Azumi, a Professor of Political Science and Development Studies, officially assumed duty today (Tuesday) as the new Chief of Staff to Abbas.
Mr Dan-Azumi has extensive experience in development work focusing on democratic governance and public policy, parliamentary institutional strengthening, research, peace and security, human rights, conflict, and peace building among others, which is an asset to the Speaker.
One of the numerous Nigerians that have wished the new Chief of Staff well is the Member representing Ardo-Kola State Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Happy Shorunba the young Professor to his new role.
“It is with gratitude to God Almighty and a joyful heart that I congratulate Jake Dan-Azumi on his assumption of office today as the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.” Mr Shorunba said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The appointment of Dan-Azumi is a well deserved appointment and a testimony of his hard work and excellent service delivery in the National Assembly for the past 14 years.
“Dan-Azumi is a first-class material who is bringing on board his experience as an international consultant in parliamentary affairs.
“As a former Technical Assistant to the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), National Assembly, Jake Dan-Azumi is best suited for the job.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Ardo-Kola State Constituency whom I represent in the State House of Assembly, I want to congratulate the Zing-born finest professional on this appointment and pray to God to grant him the wisdom and grace to excel and make Taraba and Nigeria proud.
