The Bauchi state chapter of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned the state Governor Bala Mohammed to stop what it called ‘Victimization of members of the opposition’.
The party gave the warning in a press release while reacting to the recent demolition of the house of the member of the National assembly Honourable Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi by the state government.
The press release which was signed by the state secretary of the party Alhaji Bako Hussaini condemned the demolition of the lawmaker’s house located at Government Reserved Area (GRA) Bauchi.
They alleged that apart from the destruction of that house, government had revoked many land titles belonging to its members including two former governors and their deputies who are now in APC.
The party further alleged that the governor had also instituted court cases against some key figures of the opposition in the state.
While saying that the party would resist all threats by the governor, Hussaini advised Bala to fulfill his campaign promises and stop diverting people’s attention.
However, the spokesperson of the governor Comrade Mukhtar Gidado said that the demolished home of the lawmaker was acquired illegally.
He added that government had given him revocation letter and order to stop building structures at the controversial house but he refused to comply hence the decision to destruct the house
