Santuraki Campaign Directorate (SCD),the campaign office of Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, has advised the state governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar to desist from making fake Promises to Jigawa Electorates.
The call was contained in a statement on Wednesday, signed by its Deputy Director, Media Publicity, Umar Kyari Jitau Madamuwa.
According to the statement, it amounts to political retrogression for a political leader in this 21st century, when issue based politics are to take the front burner, but some leaders resort to deceit and fake promises to the electorates.
it’s added,”I found it astonished, miraculous and politically blunders when the Jigawa State Gov. H.E. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar led his Party’s Campaign Train to Guri Local Government Area to canvass for support some couple of days ago.
“To brief the reader, Guri Local Government Area in Jigawa state is one area where farmers/herdsman clashes/killings has become not only an annual but almost daily event particularly under this APC regime.
“It is hardly a month can pass without such an incident taking place in one of the villages of the Local Government Area”.
The statement noted that, Takazza, Musari, Una, Gagiya, Guri, Lafiya and Madamuwa to mention but few are some of the towns and villages that witnessed the killings of their innocent people without any action from state government to avoid re-occurrence.
The statement further added, “No one can recall if Gov. Muhammadu Badaru has ever visited the area to solely condole or sympathy with the people over the killings.
“One would expect when the Governor come face to face with these people instead for him to tender an apology for his failure to secure their lives and properties or give them hope, he resorted to, “Fake Promise”, “That when the people of Guri Local Government Area elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Guri will become the London of Jigawa/Nigeria”, though he has failed to define what he meant by London.
“Let me bring it to the note of the reader that, H.E. Gov. Badaru has not equated Guri to his Local Government of origin, Babura in the distribution or siting of developmental projects under his regime but now promising a Fake London statue for Guri under a government that will never come in 2023.
“It is high time political leaders begin to learn not to engage in arrogance, immature political behaviour and also they should learn to stop betraying the trust reposed in them by the innocent citizens through Fake Campaign Promises.
“Gov. Badaru Abubakar should be reminded that, Guri Local Government Area is too politically enlightened and sophisticated also for such an Outdated, Primitive and Dark Age Campaign Promises.
“Please Your Excellency, Governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, mni, “IT IS A PEACEFUL GURI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA WE WANT, WHERE THE CITIZENS WILL MOVE AROUND FREELY AND GO ABOUT THEIR BUSINESSES FREELY ALSO AND NOT A FAKE OR FICTION LONDON GURI”.
