Senator Sampson, NUJ, Others Commiserate With Journalist Over Father’s Demise

Senator Ekong Sampson representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has commiserated with Sir Dennis Udoma, former Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on the demise of his father, late Pa John Udoma Etukudo at 72 years.
Senator Sampson, who described the late Septuagenarian who was buried at the weekend in his country home, Ekpuk Town in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom as a man of unassuming humility and hard work said, his love for family and community was exemplary.
He stated that, Pa Udoma was a social mixer with a good sense of humour, who treated all in contact with him with warmth and filial assurances.
According to him, “… your late father would be remembered as a man of unassuming humility and hard work. His love for his family and community was exemplary. He was a social mixer with a good sense of humour, who treated all who came across him with warmth and filial assurances.
“Words may not be enough to describe the feeling of losing a dear one, especially a beloved father as yours, who had a great positive influence,” he said.
Senator Sampson charged Sir Dennis Udoma, also a frontline journalist in Akwa Ibom to be consoled in the fact that his father lived well, and left behind a legacy adding that, the deceased is at rest in the bosom of the Lord.
Similarly, the Executive and Members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State, Abuja-based Attorney, Barrister Jacob Brown Udobang and the Administrative Secretary , Anchor Insurance Limited, Lagos have also extended their heartfelt condolences to the former Chairman and his family on father’s passage.
The Correspondents’ Chapel in their letter signed by the Secretary, Udeme Utip expressed deep sadness on the exit of the patriarch at a time his wise counsels were needed most saying, his demise has left unimaginable pains and void that would be difficult to a good replacement.
While admonishing the bereaved family to hold on to the love and joy their father brought into them, eulogized late Pa’ Udoma’s remarkable attributes as Community leader, who touched the lives of many.
The Chapel prayed for the love of God and support of persons around Daylight Newspapers journalist to provide sucour and strength through the profound loss of a kind hearted, humble and compassionate father.
