Leader of the APC in Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has unveiled his first year scorecard as he continued his engagements with party structure with a meeting with APC Zonal Executives in the Southern Zone.
Lalong met with Zonal Party Exco, Local Government Chairmen, Ward Chairmen, former elected Chairmen and Councillors, Local Government Secretaries and appointees, local Government and councillorship candidates at the 2024 elections.
This was contained in a statement by Special Adviser Media to Senator Lalong, Dr. Makut Simon Macham.
He told them that the visit was to meet with them and give them update on issues relating to the party in the state and Federal level as well as put before them a scorecard of his stewardship in the last one year.
The Senator expressed appreciation for the support of the party and its members over the years and said he does not take it for granted.
Lalong said he has done a lot to impact the lives of the people through Constituency projects across the six local Governments areas of the zone.
He said so far, his interventions have cut across water supply, health facilities, schools construction, roads and empowerment among others.
He promised to do more in the 2025 budget and beyond urging them to bring up suggestions on areas that he needs to do more.
Zonal APC Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Nyalum said Senator Lalong is a shining star in representing the zone as well as providing strong leadership for the party.
He thanked the APC leader to coming home to touch base with his Constituency and also address issues that have concerned members of the party in the zone.
Member Representing QuanPan, Shendam, Mikang Federal Constituency Hon. John Dafaan and his colleague Representing Langtang South and Langtang North Hon. Bulus Venman as well as Commissioner FCT Civil Service Commission and former ALGON Chairman Hon. Alex Naantuam all stressed the need for unity in the party and pledged to work with the leader, Senator Lalong in ensuring better performance in future endeavours.
Earlier, Senator Lalong commissioned Solar-Powered powered street lights in Gangnum village of Langtang South Local Government where he was received with delight by the villagers.
He promised to ensure the completion of the Gangnum-Ajikamai-Sabon Gida road which has been stalled due to lack of commitment by the state Government.
