Senator Lalong Attends New Year Mass, Stresses Peace, Cultural Revival At Bit Gamai Festival

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau Simon Lalong has asked Nigerians to look forward to a greater year of opportunities and progress through reliance on God’s help and mercies.
Senator Lalong who attended the new year Mass at his home church, St. Stephen Catholic Church Nyak Ajikamai, Shendam LGA said the year 2025 is full of expectations and hope and God will take Nigeria to greater heights.

Accompanied by his family, Senator Lalong said there is so much to thank God for the outgone year 2024 despite the challenges the nation and its people faced.
He said the administration of President Tinubu is working hard to ameliorate the pains that have arisen from the Renewed Hope reform policies initiated to ensure that Nigeria overcomes obstacles to development.
The Senator assured that as a legislator, he will continue to work for the progress and well-being of his constituents, Plateau State and Nigeria at large through making laws and attracting projects and programmes that address the yearnings of the people.
He thanked the Church for praying for the nation and it’s leaders particularly himself as well as offering constructive criticism and suggestions for better performance.
In his Homily, the officiating Priest said the new year presents another opportunity for people to work for a better nation through doing the right thing individually and collectively.
He challenged those in power to have compassion for the people particularly the weak and vulnerable who yearn for basic things of life.
In another development, Senator has emphasized the need for cultural renaissance as part of developing a society that is built on ethics, principles and good morals.
Senator Lalong while speaking at the 2024 Annual cultural festival of the Gamai people, Bit Gamai, said the event is a veritable opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the land and teach the younger generation about the history and values of the Gamai people.
He said the older generation needs to hand over the cultural and traditional values, arts and essence of the Gamai people to the next generation which is under a lot of attack from other cultures across the global space.
He thanked the Gamai Unity and Development Association (GUDO) for sustaining the cultural fiesta which continues to attract people from around the country and beyond.
Chairman of the occasion, Senator Diket Plang said the event is one of the most vibrant in the State and Nigeria at large which showcases the contributions of the Gamai people to the nation.
Senator Diket used the occasion to celebrate Senator Simon Lalong, describing him as his leader both at the State and in the Senate where they are both working together with their colleagues to bring development to the people.
Other speakers also appreciated the event and pledged support for future events aimed at celebrating the Gamai culture and traditions.
Senator Lalong donated a car to the winner of the Miss Gamai 2024 beauty pageant which was presented by representative of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, AVM Napoleon Bali.
After the event, Senator Lalong inaugurated a 500kva transformer on Solomon Lar Way, Shendam, donated by Hon. Joe Bukar, Majority Leader, Plateau State
