In line with his determination to ensure self-reliance and sustainable development among the people of his constituency in view of the present economic reality in the country, Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje has on Thursday, empowered over 400 vulnerable women in his constituency with cash grants.
Sen. Goje who was represented by his aide, Alhaji Danjuma Babayo, explained that the gesture was aimed at boosting the economic status of his constituents.
He stated that, each beneficiary has been given the sum of N30,000 cash grant to uplift their small scale business in order for them to become self reliance.
He urged the beneficiaries to make use of what they benefited appropriately for them to become self reliance and have means of survival.
Some of the beneficiary who spoke with Daylight Reporters shortly after receiving their cash grants, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and promised to use it appropriately.
Meanwhile, Senator Goje has sponsored an electrification project connecting Yankari town and other neighbouring villages in Garko ward of Akko LGA with electricity.
Sen. Goje who was irked by the unfortunate situation facing the communities due to the absence of electricity, immediately support the mobilisation of contractors to site to commence the execution of the project.
The community described as “unbelievable’’ the news of the electrification project and commended Sen. Goje for coming to their aid.
One of the community leaders, Jauro Muhammadu said that the community would see to the successful execution of the project by providing the necessary support to the project contractor.
