As part of his efforts to boost food production in his constituency, the Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has twelve thousand bags of fertiliser to farmers for free.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in his residence in Gombe, Senator Goje said the gesture was in line with his philosophy of eradicating poverty and hunger from his constituency.
He said the fertilisers were free, and that agricultural development would remain key part of his leadership.
He said, “today we are distributing 12,000 bags of fertiliser to my people across Gombe Central Senatorial District and other parts of the state free of charge.
“We are doing this in order to encourage our local farmers across our constituency to enhance food production and food security and ultimately reduce poverty among our people in line with the manifesto of our great party.” He said.
He also made it clear that the commodity will be distributed in accordance with a template design by him to ensure that it reach all the relevant stakeholders and interest groups across the constituency.
Senator Goje, while commending the people of his constituency for their support and solidarity over the years, appeal to them to continue to support him and the All Progressive Congress (APC), administration at all levels to enable them enjoy more dividends of democracy.
In his remarks, the Director General National Productivity Centre, Dr Nasir Raji thanked Senator Goje for his decision to put smiles on the faces of rural farmers, and urged them to support the lawmaker in his future endeavors.
He then urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the use the commodity for the purpose for which it was meant for.
Commending Sen. Goje’s efforts, beneficiaries thanked him for his continuous support towards bringing dividends of democracy to his constituents.
