Senator representing Adamawa central at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Aisha Binani, has commissioned the distribution of 21 trailers of free fertilizers to farmers in her constituency.
While flagging off the distribution of the NPK 20-10-10, Sen. Binani disclosed that the initiative for the free distribution of fertilizers is to support the farmers in the wake of COVID 19 pandemic.
“The 21 Trailers loaded with 600 bags of fertilizer each, is my personal initiative for free distribution to support our farmers in the wake of Covid 19 Pandemic and this is not a constituency project,” she said.
The lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizers for its primary purpose which is to enhanced farm produce in their various farms.
Sen. Binani further explained that each local government of her senatorial district will get one trailer of fertilizer.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal thanked the senator for the gesture.
” What the senator has done for the people of Adamawa today is not only for the APC members but for the entire members of her constituency, as every ward of her senatorial district will receive 50 bags of fertilizer”, Bilal said.
The beneficiaries in their separate remarks were appreciative of the gesture.
At the flag off, leaders and members of different associations were in attendance.
